Last Days in the UK

Christmas Eve day Justin and I took a drive during Charlie's nap to a pub that was recommended for us to try.  Justin loves trying different real ales, which we each partook in there.  We walked around the church near the pub and enjoyed the blast of sunshine that was out.  However it was SO cold we quickly retreated back to the car.

All my Christmas photos are on my camera, which I have yet to upload.  I'll have to share those another time.  It was a nice day of course.  Thomas made my favorite french toast for breakfast and an amazing Christmas dinner that we all had one too many helpings of.  Father Christmas spoiled all of us, it was great Christmas.

Our last few days in the UK for were spent in a town called Frome.  It was half way between where we were staying in St Mawgan and Justin's parents place in London.  We thought it would be nice to break up the drive and stay a few nights there.  It was a much different experience, and a little more secluded housing then our previous cottage.  I didn't take any pictures of the accommodations, but they were little free standing apartments built on someones property.  It was much more modern.  We couldn't walk to places from our place, as it was built in the countryside, but we were just a short drive away from the town.  The weather was not in our favor those few days from what I can remember either, our wellies were put to good use those last few days.

One of our days in Frome we drove to Longleat Park and did the safari drive where you drive up close to loads of animals in your car.  It reminded me of something out of Jurassic Park the movie, where these big gates buzz you in and there are danger signs everywhere to not roll down your windows.  It was pouring rain that day, per usual, so a lot of the animals were in hiding, but we did see some amazing lions, tigers and really cute monkeys.  I think Charlie didn't really get it, but all the adults enjoyed it. I forgot my good camera that day so all we have are zoomed in iPhone shots.

On the last day of our trip we took a few family shots before heading back to London. The setting is right outside our place.

We got back to Singapore at 3pm on New Years Eve day.  We were too exhausted to go out with our friends that we made plans with, so we ordered pizza, cracked open some champagne and went to bed by 10pm!
