Weekends with Chalie Boy and the hubby...

are the best!

Date Night

I just downloaded pictures from my camera and came across these fun pics from a date night in London. It was so nice over the summer to take advantage of being with our parents and to go out at night once Charlie was asleep. It is so important to maintain a good relationship with Justin, and sneaking alone time with him is so valuable to me.

We recently hired a live in maid here for just that purpose! It is the norm here in Singapore to have help, everyone does it. Having someone live in our home was a big decision to make, especially because we are such homebodies. But after talking to everyone I know in Singapore (and friends who reside in other countries where help is the norm), the benefits of having a live in maid far out weigh the cons. In fact depending on who you speak with, some people struggle to find a bad thing to say about it! The biggest deciding factor for me on hiring our maid was how friends of ours have said it has extremely improved their relationship. Since we are so far from any family support here, I am really looking forward to having the flexibility to go on date nights, movie nights, and to just have the option to have a spontaneous night out with Justin.

I am looking forward to more nights like this!!

Lean mean eating machine!

Charlie is just growing so much. It amazes me, while I was feeding him this morning I was just in awe of how much he has grown in 7 months. Time is already going too fast!

Charlie and Mommy

I love our days that we spend doing nothing but playing together. The days where we have no plans besides hanging out with each other. He is my favorite little man!

Standing

Charlie LOVES to stand, he much prefers standing over sitting or laying down anyday. He is unable to pull himself up yet, but once helped up he will stand forever. He is so funny, I have a feeling he will be one of those babies who is trying to run before he can crawl.

Jumperoo

Charlie was cracking us up this morning. He was jumping around and then he would come to an abrupt stop, stand up tall and smile. It was hysterical.... well to us at least. He loves to stare at people until they smile back, so this was his way of making sure we were paying attention. I had to get a clip on video, unfortunately our laughter made him cry at one point but only momentarily.

Recharging

Sorry for the lack of posting, I have been recharging myself since being back from the UK. We had an amazing summer visiting both our families, but after being away for almost 7 weeks I was exhausted and I could not be happier to be back into our normal routine. And there is nothing like your own bed, right?!

Charlie has had some recent milestones. He is now rolling over all the time, and sleeps on his tummy no matter how he is put down to sleep. He also started solids. We waited until 24 weeks to feed him food for the first time. So far he has had pears, carrots, avocado, banana, sweet potato and today he is trying apples and butternut squash! I have been making all his baby food. I bought this amazing contraption that steams and blends his food, it is compact and super easy to clean so I have really enjoyed making everything for him. He also had his 6 month shots this week and when he was weighed he is now coming in at the 75th percentile for weight and 50th for length at almost 19 pounds and 27 inches long.

Daddy's shoulders

Charlie's new favorite way to explore the house!

Thomas' Birthday Lunch

Today we celebrated Thomas' birthday down by the London Bridge. We ate at a great Greek restaurant with Thomas' mom Karin, his nephew and niece Finn and Martha and Finn's friend Josh. Even more exciting than the pitas and souvlaki, was Charlie being passed around the table. He was very well behaved per usual, and even had his first try in a highchair! He is such a big boy these days.Charlie was so exhausted from entertaining everyone he decided to have a power nap by the time he got back to me.

Splish splash, I was taking a bath...

Here is Charlie Boy last night in his bath. He loves to eat the bubbles and kick around.
And, being the funny man he is, Charlie even made a bubble mustache! Oh Charlie, always pulling tricks. ;)

Wedding Weekend!

Justin and I had a fabulous weekend in Hertfordshire celebrating our good friends Daire and Laura. Their wedding was absolutely amazing, the weather was perfect, venue was gorgeous, drinks and food were delicious and the guests were all lovely!! Daire has always been one of my favorite friends of Justin's and I am SO pleased he found Laura. I have loved getting to know her during their courtship and look forward to our many adventures together in the future. I couldn't be happier for them.More photos of the weekend here.
