Water park fun

How great is Singapore?! There is a new, well refurbished, shopping mall in the East that built a water park on their roof. How genius is that? Not only is it free, but such a great way to entertain the kids after running a few errands. I didn't end up working Thursday morning so Justin and I decided to take Charlie. Since it was a week day it was very quiet. A small group showed up from a school nearby by it was still very pleasant. Charlie still needs help walking around, so Justin and I ended up getting soaked in our clothes but it was such a fun morning. After playing around we went down for a late breakfast/early lunch in the mall. Charlie enjoyed a special treat, an egg less blueberry scone and LOVED it. He passed out on the way home, which always is a great sign of a successful morning.

Absolute Sanctuary

I had my first girls weekend away since having Charlie this past weekend. It was GLORIOUS! Three of us left our little fellas and hubby's behind and took off to Ko Samui, Thailand late Thursday night. Now this was not a girls gone wild weekend, it was actually a detox weekend! We figured it was something our husbands would never do and jumped at the chance. We all had our own rooms with big balconies. We did yoga followed by massages every day! Part of the detox was we only ate raw food while we were there, which 90% of the time was very very tasty. We enjoyed several fruit/veggie drinks a day and just relaxed. I am talking about complete and utter relaxation. We sun bathed, swam, went to the beach, did some shopping and had loads of girl talk. It was by far the best thing I have done for myself in such a long time, I feel so rejuvenated. We are already talking about our next girls getaway. It is a must in the near future! Of course, I missed my boys and could not wait to see Charlie this morning. He was asleep when I got in last night. I swear he has changed in 4 days.

I didn't bring a camera, so only iPhone pics to post.

The Zoo

After our picnic in the gardens we headed to the Singapore Zoo. It was feeding time at the zoo so all the animals were easily seen. My favorite were the white tigers, that were pacing furiously waiting for bloody meat to be thrown their way at meal time. Thomas loved the monkeys. Justin's favorite is always the Pygmy hippo. And I can't forget about my one true love, the elephants! We were all seriously exhausted after the trip there.

Picnic in the gardens

We planned a full day of fun on the last day we had with Thomas and Sheena. Unfortunately, Sheena wasn't feeling well but she insisted we continue with the day festivities without her.

We started the afternoon with a picnic in the Botanical Gardens. It was a Monday so it was nice and quiet and it was a pretty cool day for Singapore so it was a perfect day for a picnic. We made turkey sandwiches with cranberry and brie cheese and brought pate and fruit to nibble on.
We kicked around a beach ball. Charlie ate leaves. And we blew bubbles! Lots and lots of bubbles.

TBC

We spent last Saturday at Tanjong Beach Club with Sheena. Justin and Charlie swam in the pool and we all walked on the beach. Charlie splashed a little in the ocean, and per usual sat undecided about how he feels about sand. I think we need to start spending more weekends there. Charlie loves it!

Justin's Birthday

On Justin's actual birthday we stayed home and cooked steaks, mashed potatoes and salad. It was followed by a delicious chocolate and pistachio cake. It was really good to have his parents here to celebrate, it always makes things more special when they are with us. It is a bit belated on here now but I love you Dus! Wishing you many more great years of fun ahead! xx
