Brusha brusha brusha

Charlie loves playing with our electric toothbrushes so I bought him his own kid electric toothbrush today. He absolute LOVES it. So cute watching him use it.The only problem is he likes it too much that I had a really hard time taking it away from him.Such a funny little man, he loves vegetables and brushing his teeth. Could be worse I guess?

Cate's Birthday

The Jackson's last day in Singapore was beautiful Cate's birthday. We celebrated at their hotel with a lovely lunch, cake and swimming. The girls just had manicures and pedicures in their room before lunch! So fun.

Their kids are so sweet with Charlie, they all bring him things and play with him. Stuart and Justin were like one of the kids in the pool, chasing the girls and dunking everyone.

Chinese New Year

Yesterday was Chinese New Year. We celebrated with my mom's group today. All the kids were decked out in their Chinese gear and looking adorable.

The Botanics

We went for a morning walk through the Botanical Gardens with the Jackson family. The weather was perfect and the kids loved rolling around and playing on the grass.Charlie and Tom doing headstands

Garden Party

Today we went to the Shangri-la resort in Sentosa for their brunch and garden party. They have a clown and magician to entertain the kids, and it is right on the beach which makes a great setting. Justin's cousin Stuart and family are in town for Chinese New Year and they joined us for brunch. Their kids are all adorable and I love getting to catch up with them. Charlie was smitten with the girls.

Hay Dairies

On Sunday we took Charlie to a goat farm called Hay Dairies. To be honest it wasn't the best farm to visit but was something new to try. It was a bit of a trek to get there, and by trek I mean a 30 minute drive in Singapore. If we hadn't stopped for lunch with friends before it probably wouldn't have been worth the drive to see the goats but it was a nice day. Charlie tried fresh goat milk for the first time and seemed to really enjoy it. We had lunch at a place called Poison Ivy before, where the food they cooked was grown on their land. It was delicious.

Last dinner

Our last dinner in California at Tommy's sushi. It was a great month home.

And we are back!

It was a long and tiring flight home. Charlie didn't nap that well on the flight, and only really slept the very last part of the flight back from Tokyo. We were all exhausted when we got home, but thankfully Charlie seems to have adapted pretty well to the time here. I think he had a lot of sleep to catch up on, last night he slept for 12 hours which is normal! It took him over a week in the US to get used to the time change and sleep through the night, so it would be fabulous it we don't have to deal with that again.

We tried putting Charlie in a bassinet on the flight but he just thought it was funny. He is really too big now and would just flip over and try to climb out.

I've done these long haul flights with Charlie a few more times than Justin has so I was a bit more relaxed then him before taking off.
Are we there yet?!It is nice to be home and get back into the swing of things after being away for so many weeks.

NYE

Justin and I planned to go out to a fun dinner for New Years Eve, but we had just arrived home from Paso Robles the night before and were still full from our massive 6 course meal there so we decided to stay in instead.

Before dinner with the family we took my brother to the Ducks hockey game. They lost, but it was fun. I actually really like watching hockey. When we got home from the game my mom cooked a nice dinner and then we went outside and celebrated with their neighbors. We had a bonfire in the front yard and we laughed and drank till midnight. Some of the neighbors went home early, and I got the brilliant idea to TP their house after the countdown. This was Justin's first time toilet papering, but I am no amateur let me tell you. My friends and I were known to TP houses well into our college years. It was hilarious. We did a pretty good job too.Last photo of the night and we went to bed before a lot of them! My parents are lucky to have such fun neighbors.

Paso Robles

The week in between Christmas and New Years we went to Paso Robles with Sam and Michael. Paso Robles is where my great grandma Mommer lives. She is now in a home, but has lived there for many many years. She is now 98!! Incredible. It is a long drive there, almost 5 hours, so we did some wine tasting and stayed at the Justin winery for the night. Justin vineyards is very special to our family. The day Justin asked my dad for my hand in marriage we went wine tasting at Justin vineyard. It was a similar trip with my parents to visit Mommer and I picked the Justin vineyard to taste at just because of the name! Not too long after, my sister and Michael went to Justin with my parents and that is actually where Michael proposed to my sister. So we all love the wine and obviously the special memories that we have there. We have never stayed over night there though and it really was a special night. We stayed in a huge townhouse type room, it was two stories with a full kitchen and dining room. We were located on a private part of the property so no one else was around and we over looked the barrel caves and the vineyard. We had dinner in their restaurant which was absolutely superb, it came with wine pairings of all Justin wines of course. So fun, loved it.

Mommer still has her spunky personality, but is definitely showing her age. It was hard for me to see her lose her train of thought and struggle to find certain words, but she still makes us laugh and she still loves seeing handsome men!
