TBC Sunday

This past Sunday was spent at Tanjong Beach Club.  I like going there because it is a kid friendly place that is also "cool".  It is a place I loved to go to before having a kid, only exception being I just would have been ordering a few cocktails instead of my skinny iced latte.  They play fun loud music, there are loads of people and its just a great atmosphere.  Charlie thoroughly enjoyed himself at the beach and swimming in the pool, he especially enjoyed his coconut and special fish and chips lunch!

Strike a pose

Keppel Bay Marina

We spend our weekends trying to be out and about with Charlie as much as possible.  His current obsession is boats.  He is transfixed when we take him to the Keppel Bay Marnia and he can watch the ferrys come in and out.  We wave at the boats, we yell hello to the man driving the boat and we shout every time a new one comes into sight.  You'd think we were finding a treasure every time a new boat appears with all three of us shouting and pointing. It also doesn't hurt that the grounds at the marina are beautiful.

Mothers Day

For Mothers Day Justin and our good friend Clive cooked me and Serene breakfast at our house.  They did a whole fry up!  Eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, tomatoes...the works! We joked that we are going to let them cook the same thing for Father's day since they were having way too much fun together. The girls got to hang out and catch up while the little boys played cars and the big boys cooked.  It was a very yummy breakfast and was much appreciated.

Ryder wouldn't put down his cup for the photo after many requests to do so. Juice was obviously far more important than our photo op.

Having them over today made me even more excited for our move in a few weeks.  Our current place is so tiny and I can't wait to feel more comfortable when we entertain friends!

Thanks for a lovely Mothers Day boys.

Turtle farm, shopping and a night out!

Saturday was packed full of activities.  After Charlie's swim lesson we headed to a turtle farm.  The setting was really beautiful in the middle of Jurong Lake.  The farm itself was not the most impressive thing we have ever been to, but Charlie loved seeing all the different turtles.  Some were in cages or blocked in an area but there were tons out and about also.  I almost stepped on one that I swear started growling at me.  I think he was coughing something up or clearing his throat, but it was SO loud coming from a turtle.  It scared me to death, however Charlie wasn't phased by it and started growling back. Justin and I both discussed how much things have changed since having a kid and the things we do on our weekends now to entertain Charlie. We never pictured spending our weekends searching out places like this!

Charlie checking out the boats on the bridge over to the turtles. He is currently obsessed with boats.
We took Charlie home for a nap and Justin decided to take me for an impromptu shopping trip for an early Mother's Day present.  We went straight to DVF (obviously) and Justin spoiled me with a few fun tops.  One of which I requested a night out just to wear it!

We came home to swim for a bit with Charlie and then headed out for a date night.  We went for a few drinks on top of the Marina Bay Sands hotel at Ku De Ta.  After that we headed to Cut, which is one of Wolfgang Puck's restaurants also at Marina Bay.  We sat at the bar and shared a few starters and a main.  It was seriously delicious.  We will definitely be going back soon.

At Ku De Ta

Justin's cousin Stuart who lives in Hong Kong is building the new indoor stadium here in Singapore.  We got to see such a great view of the progress from the top of Marina Bay Sands.
A few pics from the restaurant (and of my cute top!) Thanks for a really fun night handsome. x

Sissy and Catherine

My sister and Catherine came to visit us last week.  It was a massive effort by both of them.  It was Catherine's first ever flight, and was very brave of Sam to bear it alone.  The week flew by but it was a lot of fun, the best part was seeing Charlie and Catherine together.  I can't wait till Cate is a little bit older and they can really play together.  We would sometimes see Charlie go up and kiss Catherine without being asked to.  It was just so sweet.  He did get jealous a few times, but for the most part was very kind with "the baby", as her called her. We stayed pretty busy all week, Sam got a tour of every furniture shop in Singapore.  I am fully consumed with trying to find pieces to fill our new apartment that we move into in a few weeks.  It was helpful having her input along the way. We also had lots of play time with the kids, a few fun lunches and dinners out, we cooked a lot and Sam got to meet a few of my friends. I wish we had more time together. We miss them already.

Me and Catherine on their first morning here!
An attempt at a group shot, this was the best we could get.
While Charlie napped, we took Cate to lunch at Sushi Tei.

They got to bathe together every night, Charlie would get a little over excited and splash a little too much for Cate.
 Showing Catherine his cars.

We took them to the pool many times!  Looks like Catherine is just as much of a water baby as Charlie is.  Both following in their mommy's footsteps.

A few photos on the balcony before heading to a tapas dinner at Sabio.

We sent Michael some photos of our "political faces"
And we got churros for dessert!!!  Donuts for dessert, yes please.
At Kith for a quick coffee after a long walk.

Lunch at Real Foods while Charlie was in school.
Back at the pool, she is SO cute.
I have plans to open a baby gym if we ever move to California.  I told Sam about where I got the idea, and we decided to go with the kids so she could see what it was all about.

 Lunch at the Botanic Gardens.
And our last morning together right before taking them to the airport.
Can't wait till we see them again!  Love you guys.
