London

First off, I have to say how great is it to be home? Whether we are at my parents house or my in laws, Justin and I are so spoiled. I am currently writing this post while enjoying a hot bacon sandwich and freshly squeezed orange grapefruit juice. Heaven.

Justin and I have gone into town the last few days on our own. Yesterday the weather was nice so we grabbed some sandwiches and had a picnic in a park. I love how when the weather is good here, everyone is out in the park for lunch. It is such a funny mix of people as well. Men in suits having naps, people meditating, people reading or chatting with friends. It is just such a nice way to spend a lunch hour.
We of course had to stop for a pint before heading home.Last night I went out with the bride to be and all her lovely friends. We went to a pretty posh restaurant called Aqua, where we had a private dining room and enjoyed quite the feast. We ended the night at the W Hotel bar for a few more drinks. It was a great night! Can't wait for the wedding on Sunday.

Modeling

Charlie is such a model. I think he really is starting to pose these days. I love it. He is just perfect.

The Mother Land

We made it to London last night. The flight was overall good, Charlie behaved very well. The last few hours before landing in London Charlie was a little cranky since all the lights were on and it was his nighttime in Singapore, but other than that he was a very good boy. He also slept most the night here, waking up at about 5:30 this morning. Hopefully he will be back on track in the next day or so.

At the Singapore airport.
Charlie, always being so helpful, carried most of our carry on luggage for us.
When not napping, Charlie really enjoyed listening to music on the flight. He also reviewed the menu thoroughly before deciding to just stick with formula. And here he is this morning in his Ralph Lauren outfit. Thank you Meg!! This is one of my favorite outfits!!

Swimming!

We had our first swimming play date on Tuesday! Can't wait to start Charlie in swim lessons, hopefully later this summer.

The Little Gym

Today Charlie and I tried out The Little Gym for the first time with a few friends. One of the mom's from our mom group invited us to all join her for a trial session. I think Charlie is still a wee bit too young to enjoy the class, but I could see how it would be fun for him in a few months when he can actually do more! There was a lot of singing, tumbling, crying and laughing from all the babies.
Thank you Alina for posting these on Facebook for me to steal!! :)

Beano's Engaged!!

One of my very best friends Amy, the one who flew to Singapore with me and was also one of my bridesmaids, got engaged this week!! Amy is one of those people who truly was put on this earth to be a wife and a mom. She has wanted this for so long, and her finance Josh is such a perfect match for her. It was so nice getting to know Josh better while they were in Singapore, and he is so sweet with Amy. I think I may have cried more than Amy did, I am just SO happy for them. Amy and I have had so many special memories together over the years, but her getting engaged in Singapore was by far one of the best moments with her. I can not wait for all the excitement that awaits her and Josh and all the celebrating we will get to do!!

Today

Charlie is following in Daddy's footsteps already. Here he is today holding on to Justin's football.p.s. Justin would like a name check on his photography skills here. There you go dear. Everyone knows. xx

Charlie's first swim

This video below is Charlie boy's first of many swims in my parents pool while we were home.

He is never over excited in the pool, just very relaxed. Most of the time we put him in this float. We are looking forward to testing out our new pool at our complex. It has a great kiddy pool that Charlie will love.

Paddle Boarding

Lacey and I went paddle boarding in the back bay in Newport while I was home. We thought it would be really hard to stay up, but it was actually fairly easy to balance. After a quick tutorial from one of the staff members at the aquatic center, we paddled around picking out which houses and boats we wanted to have. It was such a nice day, and a great way to get our workout in. I definitely want to take Justin to do this next time.

Where have we been?!

Hello blog world!! We have been seriously MIA on here. We have been so so so busy, or as my sister loves to say we have been busy bees...bzzz. Our last few weeks in the US were great. We had lots of family time, and I also had quality time with good friends. We got back to Singapore on Sunday morning. One of my best friends Amy and her boyfriend Josh flew back with us which was SO helpful. There is no way I could have managed all my luggage and Charlie on my own. I always go over board on shopping and packing when I visit home. Since being back we have basically been non stop, entertaining Amy and Josh and catching up with Charlie's friends and their mommies. We now have a few days of relaxing before we are off to the UK for 10 days. Thankfully, Charlie gets over jet lag super fast and is back to sleeping through the night after a few days. :)
Charlie grew so much over the last month!! The week before we went to the US I stopped breast feeding and Charlie has been solely on formula since. He was not gaining proper weight which prompted the switch, and I am SO proud to report Charlie gained a whopping 2 pounds in the past 5 weeks. That is like a ton in baby weight! He looks better than ever and is still the happiest and cutest little boy I have ever laid eyes on. All 16 pounds of him. He really is such a joy, and each day gets better with him.I updated my facebook with recent pics of Charlie, check them out here. I promise to start updating more often.

Charlie, the River Dancer?

Here is Charlie in his new Jumperoo!! He loves jumping in it, and chewing on it?! His legs are still a little too short so we had to put books under his feet so he could touch.

Napa

Last week Justin and I left Charlie for the first time and went to Sonoma and Napa in northern California for a few nights. We flew into San Fransisco and rented a car. We were so excited about our Jeep Wrangler. Some pics crossing the Golden Gate Bridge leaving the city.It was SOOO hot the first day! I think it was almost 105 degrees. We drove by Sonoma lake and ended up changing into our bathing suits in the car and jumped in because we couldn't resist cooling off.We did not take a lot of pics on the trip unfortunately, but we had such a good time tasting delicious wines and eating at lots of fabulous restaurants. Hands down the best meal I have had in a very long time was as Scopa in Sonoma. This was the steak we shared there, I am drooling just thinking about it.

Laguna Beach

The weather has been so beautiful here. Justin and I are taking advantage of having the grandparents to babysit Charlie, and snuck away for a nice lunch and some drinks down in Laguna Beach. The restaurant over looked the water, and we enjoyed fish tacos and oysters in the sun. Perfect date day.
