NOLA

The day after we checked out of the beach house Justin and I flew to New Orleans for Amy and Josh's wedding extravaganza!  We were both pretty excited for the trip since neither of us had been to NOLA.  We were able to fly first class so the party got started on the plane, and right after landing we basically checked in to our hotel and went straight out.  We got to meet up with everyone that was already in town for a fun night at a bar called The Chart Room.  The drinks were STRONG and the company was fantastic, it was a good start to what was quite a crazy weekend.
The next day all the bridesmaids and Amy's mom went to get our nails done and have brunch.  We walked around the city a little and ate right in the french quarter.  I really loved the city, it was very European looking and was so lively with live music everywhere and so much happening down all the streets.  The people overall were very relaxed and friendly. The food we ate may have not been the healthiest but it was very yummy.

That night we headed to the rehearsal dinner.  I gave a speech which I blubbered through.  I cried one too many times that weekend then I'd like to admit.  I was just so excited and happy for Amy.

The next day we got up bright and early to prep ourselves.  Amy actually wore my wedding veil, which was SO special.  It was like it was made for the dress.  She looked absolutely fantastic and could not wipe a smile off her face once the wedding started.  The wedding itself was so fun, amazing food and a great DJ.  We danced the night away!  Amy was in her element.

Our last full day there was a rough one for me.  I thoroughly enjoyed the wedding, so was a bit worse for wear the next day.  But after a much needed mid day nap I pulled it together to go to the Saint's game.  It was incredible how enthusiastic all the people are there about the game.  It was like the city came to a stand still, with crazy fans decked out in Saints colors and jerseys everywhere you looked.  Outside the stadium was so packed full of people, it was such a sight!  They won the game which was brilliant, such a great ending to the trip.

I think I may still be recovering from that weekend, but it was worth it.  If you haven't been to New Orleans I would highly recommend it. And Amy, start organizing a wedding reunion asap!
