Chang Mai Part 2

One of our activities while in Chang Mai was visiting the monkeys at a monkey school a half hour outside of the city. This little guy welcomed us when we arrived. His hands were so soft. If you don't already know, I am fascinated by monkeys and elephants since moving to Asia. I can not get enough of them!!We were all not sure how we felt about the school because all the monkeys were chained up that we got to see. There were signs that said the monkeys are free to roam during closing hours, but you never know. Nonetheless, we tried to make the most of the trip. We were able to buy fruit to feed a bunch of the monkeys. They were all so excited jumping up and down like this monkey below to get our attention so we would throw them food.
After feeding the monkeys, we sat down to enjoy a show. It was overall pretty impressive what they were able to train the monkeys to do. We saw monkeys ride bikes,
slam dunk a basket ball,
and even pump iron.
I, of course, volunteered to be apart of the show when this monkey walked out. Dech stood there so proud, it was very funny. Dech untied my wrists that had been tied up with rope and then he gave me kisses.
Their little hands were so sweet when they grab on to you. Overall the monkeys did look happy, and seemed very well taken care of. And I loved the quality time I got to spend with Dech.

Chang Mai Part 1

We went to Chang Mai last weekend with Justin's parents. Chang Mai is in the north of Thailand and was a very impressive city. It was extremely clean, which we have not found in the many other Thai cities we have visited. It was an overall great weekend, we stayed at a really amazing boutique hotel, we ate delicious Thai food, went to the spa several times, saw the city, monkeys, fish, temples and much much more.

This was our first night on the balcony of our room. We went to a fantastic dinner that night at the Chedi Hotel. This is Thomas and Sheena on a Tuk Tuk. That was our main form of transportation there. We visited a fish spa. You pay to stick your feet in fish tanks where these tiny fish suck on your skin. They say it removes your dead skin, but not so sure how much it did. I hated the feeling at first and could only put one foot at a time in. Justin was a trooper and kept both legs in for almost 30 mins. Ewwww.Family photos
Saturday night at our hotel bar,
and at dinner
And other photos around the cityMy all time favorite!! Love the very literal translation.

Clogs

How do you feel about clogs for Fall? I can't decide if I love them or hate them?!

Grappa

I was looking through my photos of our honeymoon in Capri this morning and saw these that I just had to post. This night was seriously one of the best nights there. It was also the last night I had grappa. Have you ever tried this?! It is a very strong liquor that Italians drink after dinner. Justin and I actually really like it, but had WAY too much the week of our wedding and on the honeymoon. It usually turns the evening into a new direction, if you know what I mean. Here we are still normal pre grappa toast.Down in one!And all carnage ensues after that!
Bear in mind we are in a nice restaurant, we are grown adults, we are on our honeymoon and we just realized we left the hotel looking like twins.
I can't believe we weren't kicked out. What an embarrassment!!! But it was so worth it for these photographic memories.

Sunday Funday

We started out our Sunday with a dip in the pool. Justin wore his favorite shirt on the way down. I love it when he wears this, cracks me up every time. For the record, in case you were concerned, he does not wear this shirt in public. Then we spent the afternoon furniture shopping. We needed some bits and bobs for around the apartment, which included some extra seating for our dining table and living room. We have so many guests coming in the next few months and really wanted it to be more comfortable. It was an extremely successful day of shopping, pictures to come soon once everything is in it's place and hung.

We both needed a reward after shopping, so we stopped at a local wine deli shop. Justin had a glass of wine and I splurged on a chocolate mousse cake. While we were eating and chatting away, we noticed the couple next to us was a little quiet. We realized it was because the girl was ASLEEP!! Asleep at the table, at 5 in the afternoon in public. What the heck? I could hardly contain my laughter and forced Justin to take several pictures of the different "sleeping positions" that she got herself in over about a half an hour. HAHAHA! This provided endless entertainment for us, as you can imagine.
That night I experimented with a little foot skin rejuvenation. My feet have been so dry, and not so pretty recently and Justin and I found this Japanese product called Milky Feet that is supposed to work wonders. I had to wear these socks for an hour and apparently in the next week or two my skin will peel and "milky skin" with reveal itself. I will let you know how the results work out. Justin got full amusement out of my stylish socks.Overall, it was an eventful and productive Sunday. xoxo

Obsessed

I think I need these in my life.

Marina Bay Sands Resort and Casino

The long awaited Marina Bay Sands Resort and Casino is finally opened in Singapore. The hotel has 3 towers that are all connected by this massive roof top deck. They have an infinity swimming pool on the roof that is the size of 3 Olympic pools. That's big! We have been wanting to go up the viewing deck for the last few weeks, and ending up going there last night with a big group of friends. It wasn't as high as I expected though. It is only 57 stories. There is another tall hotel here in Singapore called Swissotel, we always take visitors there because they have a bar on the 72nd floor that has amazing views. For some reason I thought the Marina Bay hotel would be taller than this. Either way it was a fun night, and it was worth visiting! Our City!!Group Photo of the night!! Haha

Pizza Night

Homemade pizza has become one of our favorite meals! I have mastered my pizza dough recipe, thanks to Mr. Jamie Oliver. We have cracked several pizza stones, and went on Friday to buy a new one. Instead of getting our normal sandstone pizza brick we decided on mixing it up and buying a granite pizza stone instead. The benefit of the granite is that you can have the oven temperature higher. Anways, on to the pizza! We made our usual mix of toppings, grilled onions and mushrooms, fresh chili, basil, tomatoes, etc. The crust is thin and crispy just like in Italy.

I make the dough, but Justin is the roller!Preparing the toppings.Cooking away, only takes about 8 mins to cook.Pretty happy with the final product! Tastes even better than it looks.

Poached Eggs

Have you ever tried to poach an egg in boiling water? It could be the most stressful thing I have ever tried. I would always look up tips and tricks to perfect the eggs, like vinegar in water etc., but they always turned out a hot mess. I had complained to my Mom about this issue, and when I was home for Easter she surprised me with an egg poacher pan. This is possibly the greatest invention ever. You get perfectly cooked round poached eggs in 3 minutes flat. I made Justin poached eggs this morning with smoked salmon on an english muffin. Looks restaurant worthy doesn't it?
